We are not able to offer returns at this time except in the instance that a product was sent defective or damaged and not if the damage is a result of mishandling during shipment.  We do our best to package our shipments securely, but we cannot assume responsibility for the post office or the handling of the product by any mail carrier.

Our batik scarves are the result of hard work by Indonesian craftsmen.  The patterns on each scarf are handmade using hot wax which is applied to a design that has been drawn on a light colored fabric.  The wax coats and protects the pattern when the fabric is dyed again to produce a more complex motif.  Each time a new element is added through the dye process it is covered in wax to protect it from the next layer of dye.  Once the final pattern has been set, the wax is scraped off and the cloth is cleaned.  The fabric is made of interlaced strips of rayon and silk and should only be dry cleaned. You may iron the scarf, but take care to iron on the matte (rather than shiny) side of the scarf to prevent any destruction of pattern.
